President Lai: Housewives/Househusbands on National Pension to Receive at Least 5,000 TWD Monthly

President Lai Ching-te stated in Chiayi City on the 24th that the government plans to provide a monthly growth allowance of 5,000 TWD for individuals aged 0 to 18. He emphasized, 'We must also ensure that homemakers who are not covered by civil servant, labor, or farmer insurance, and only have the National Pension, receive at least 5,000 TWD per month.' Lai mentioned that children could receive 1.08 million TWD over 18 years, which parents could save for university or business ventures. He also highlighted increases in farmer pensions to 10,000 TWD and the expansion of the 'Six Major Vulnerable Care Allowances' approved by the Executive Yuan. Furthermore, he discussed the continuous rise in minimum wage since the Tsai Ing-wen administration, salary increases for civil servants, and tax relief measures that exempt 40-50% of the population from income tax.
