Iran announced today that Tehran and Washington have reached a consensus on several issues regarding a peace agreement, but it is unlikely that an agreement will be reached immediately. An Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson stated during a weekly press conference that while they have reached conclusions on most of the issues under discussion, no one can claim that a deal is imminent. He also accused the US side of being contradictory and constantly changing its stance. Iran had previously stated it was finalizing a 14-point framework agreement to end the war that began on February 28. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio indicated that a peace deal could be reached by the 25th, while President Trump stated he told negotiators not to rush into an agreement.
