Moscow, May 25 (CNA) - Officials reported that Ukrainian attacks today resulted in six deaths across Russian-occupied Ukrainian territory and the Russian border regions of Belgorod and Bryansk, including two children. According to AFP, since Russia's full-scale invasion in February 2022, Ukraine has frequently retaliated against Russian targets in response to daily bombardment. Local authorities installed by Moscow stated that four people, including two children, died in the frontline town of Gorlivka in the Russian-occupied Donetsk region. Gorlivka Mayor Ivan Prikhodko stated, 'The Ukrainian armed forces attacked the Kalininsky district of Gorlivka, killing four civilians, including two children born in 2012 and 2013.' Russian local authorities also noted that Ukrainian drones struck the Bryansk and Belgorod regions in western Russia early in the morning, causing two deaths. Before today's attack, Russia had heavily bombarded Ukraine, using a missile capable of carrying a nuclear warhead in an attack on the capital, Kyiv, last weekend. According to Ukrainian authorities, that attack killed four people and injured over 100. Russia stated that the strike was in retaliation for a Ukrainian drone attack on an educational building in the Russian-occupied Luhansk region, which resulted in 21 deaths and over 40 injuries.
