Taipei Zoo Concerned About Stray Dogs, Urges Continued Search for Anteater 'Heiniu'

Taipei Zoo stated today that the elderly anteater 'Heiniu' has not yet returned to the zoo. The zoo is currently concerned about the potential threat posed by stray dogs and hopes that the public will not give up, but continue to search and report to the zoo. The zoo released search information on the 20th for the nearly 11-year-and-10-month-old female anteater. While social media posts suggested sightings in Beitou District, the zoo told reporters that it is unlikely for the elderly 'Heiniu' to travel that far from the zoo's location in Muzha. The zoo noted that the surrounding environment provides hiding spots and food, citing a previous case where an anteater named 'Xiaohong' returned home after three months.
