Taipei Metro: No Changes to Tamsui-Xinyi Line Headway After Xinyi Line Extension Opens

The Taipei City Department of Transportation aims to open the Xinyi Line extension by the end of June. Taipei Metro stated that service frequency and departure schedules for the Tamsui-Xinyi Line will remain unchanged. During holidays, service will be adjusted flexibly to handle crowds. Currently, the peak-hour headway at Tamsui Station is approximately 5 minutes and 30 seconds. Statistics show that the maximum occupancy rate between Tamsui and Beitou stations is about 58%, indicating sufficient capacity. New trains will be gradually introduced starting mid-2027 after safety testing.
