The visit of NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang to Taiwan has sparked an AI frenzy, causing the Taiwan stock market to open high today. The market surged over 1,100 points in early trading, hitting a record high of 43,438. Electronics, semiconductors, and the TPEx index all rose by more than 2%. Key electronic stock TSMC reached a high of NT$2,305, up NT$50 or 2.2%. MediaTek hit its daily limit of NT$4,245, setting a new record high.
