7 Police Officers Injured During Drug Raid in Keelung; Officials Visit to Offer Support

Keelung police raided a drug packaging site on the 23rd, during which a suspect resisted violently and rammed a police vehicle. Officers broke the windows and used pepper spray to subdue the suspect. During the struggle, the suspect punched an officer, and several others were affected by the pepper spray. A total of seven officers were injured, though none were in critical condition. Deputy Mayor Chiu Pei-lin and Speaker Tung Tzu-wei visited the station to offer support. Deputy Mayor Chiu promised to discuss budget allocations for upgrading police vehicles, while Speaker Tung called for stricter laws regarding drug-impaired driving.
