Suspected bullying at Taoyuan middle school; Education Bureau: Investigation to start if parents apply

A video circulating online showing a student at a Taoyuan middle school allegedly bullying a classmate has sparked concern. The Taoyuan City Education Bureau stated on the 25th that the school has completed a safety report and notified the parents. If the parents file a formal request for a bullying investigation, the school will initiate the process according to the law. The video shows the perpetrator using a traffic cone and a pole to strike the victim. City Councilor Huang Chiung-hui criticized the incident, noting that the perpetrators posted the video online to show off. The Education Bureau stated that the school has reviewed surveillance footage and met with the parents of both students, and will provide legal education and counseling to the students involved.
