Penghu Prosecutors Establish Election Integrity Task Force to Crack Down on Betting and Fraud

Central News Agency, Penghu County, May 25. The Penghu District Prosecutors Office officially launched its 'Election Integrity Task Force' today, aimed at cracking down on bribery, violence, election betting, misinformation, fraudulent household registration, and foreign interference in elections. Prosecutor-General Wu Yi-ming stated at the launch ceremony that the office has coordinated with police, investigation bureaus, and immigration authorities to implement relevant measures. Anti-bribery posters will be displayed in public areas across Penghu. On the 22nd, the office encouraged citizens to report election irregularities, offering rewards of up to NT$5 million for reporting bribery by county magistrate candidates, NT$2 million for county councilors or township mayors, NT$500,000 for township representatives or village chiefs, NT$5 million for election betting, and up to NT$20 million for reporting foreign interference in elections.
