Taiwan Railways Adds Extra Trains to Assist HSR Passengers

Central News Agency, Taipei, May 25. Due to the signal malfunction at Taiwan High Speed Rail, Taiwan Railways (TRA) announced it would add extra train services to assist with passenger transport. TRA stated in a press release that it is temporarily adding EMU3000-series New Tze-Chiang trains. Southbound service 5129 runs from Qidu to Changhua, and northbound service 5130 runs from Changhua to Qidu. TRA also noted that starting at 10:00 AM today, standing tickets for the EMU3000-series on the Western Trunk Line are fully available, and certain Tze-Chiang trains will make additional stops at Xinwuri and Miaoli stations. Furthermore, TRA is operating additional reserved-seat trains during peak hours to alleviate congestion.
