According to the Central News Agency, the public urban renewal project for the 'Hua-Yi-Cun' community in Hualien, which was demolished following the April 3 earthquake, has been approved by the county government's urban renewal task force. With the assistance of the National Housing and Urban Regeneration Center (HURC), the project has secured bank financing, providing a major boost to post-disaster reconstruction. Following the 2024 earthquake, the front building of Hua-Yi-Cun was declared a dangerous structure and demolished. With 100% consent from owners, the project is moving forward as the first public urban renewal case in Hualien. The HURC, in collaboration with E.Sun Bank, held briefings for residents to discuss architectural details and financing mechanisms, ensuring the future design meets the needs of the residents.
