The Hualien County government announced that the grassroots operational funds for village chiefs have been increased to 300,000 TWD per year, neighborhood chiefs' service fees to 2,000 TWD per month, and neighborhood chiefs' insurance subsidies to a maximum of 1,200 TWD per person per year. The first two items are retroactive to January 1. The county government stated that village and neighborhood chiefs are on the front lines of public service, assisting in policy promotion, environmental maintenance, and disaster prevention. To improve administrative efficiency, these subsidies have been increased. The adjustments include raising village chiefs' funds from 155,000 TWD to 300,000 TWD, neighborhood chiefs' fees from 1,000 TWD to 2,000 TWD, and insurance from 250 TWD to 1,200 TWD. These funds cover environmental improvements, facility maintenance, disaster reporting, and care visits. The county will work with local township offices to distribute the funds promptly.
