Central News Agency, Taipei, May 25. Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR) is operating on a modified schedule today due to signal system anomalies, with three unreserved trains per hour in each direction. To meet commuter demand, THSR announced the addition of eight commuter trains during the evening rush. Since 8:00 AM, THSR has canceled original schedules, replacing them with all-stop, all-unreserved trains (excluding business class) departing from Nangang and Zuoying at 00, 20, and 40 minutes past the hour. This mode will continue throughout the day. To manage peak traffic, eight additional trains have been added: six from Nangang to Taichung and two from Taichung to Nangang. These will also be all-unreserved and stop at all stations. With these additions, THSR will provide five trains per hour for southbound travel from Nangang (5 PM–8 PM) and northbound from Taichung (5 PM–6 PM). The additional trains include southbound 8523 (17:30), 8525 (17:50), 8527 (18:10), 8529 (18:30), 8531 (19:10), 8533 (19:30), and northbound 8522 (17:19), 8524 (17:39).
