Iran's Foreign Ministry today accused the United States of violating the fragile ceasefire between the two sides over the past 48 hours by conducting airstrikes in the southern coastal province of Hormozgan. Iranian media reported that explosions were heard in the province early this morning. According to AFP, the Iranian Foreign Ministry issued a statement saying: 'The American terrorist army has continued to engage in illegal and unjustified actions since the ceasefire, and has seriously violated the ceasefire agreement in the Hormozgan region over the past 48 hours.' The US Central Command (CENTCOM) stated that US forces attacked Iranian missile facilities and vessels attempting to lay mines in the Persian Gulf region yesterday. On the other hand, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed that Iranian forces fired on US military aircraft attempting to enter the country's airspace.
