The 'Forum for Democratic Cooperation' (FDC) kicks off in Taipei on May 27. A pre-event press conference was held today with Jakub Klepal, CEO of the Forum 2000 Foundation, Liao Da-chi, CEO of the Taiwan Foundation for Democracy, and Huang Chun-yao, Director-General of the Department of European Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Klepal noted the long-standing cooperation between the forum and Taiwan, highlighting Taiwan's impressive performance in AI. The forum will focus on the role of middle powers and small nations, exploring how to strengthen mutual assistance in security, economy, and political support. Huang stated that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs invited parliamentarians from 10 European countries to deepen discussions. Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung is scheduled to deliver opening remarks.
