Central News Agency, Jakarta, May 26: Danantara Trust, under Indonesia's national investment management agency 'Danantara', announced yesterday its first three strategic cooperation plans spanning healthcare, education, and culture, aiming to explore social sustainability beyond national asset management. President Prabowo Subianto established Danantara on February 24 last year to optimize national wealth management and asset allocation, and to provide funding for national strategic projects. Danantara Indonesia Trust was established in October of the same year as a dedicated unit for social development and philanthropy. In healthcare, Danantara Trust will allocate approximately 250 billion rupiah (approx. NT$442 million) to support maternal and child health programs, including providing 6-in-1 vaccines, strengthening vaccine cold chain systems, and providing micronutrient supplements for pregnant women. Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin pointed out that Indonesia faces nearly 960,000 zero-dose children, and this funding will effectively strengthen the national health budget. In education and culture, the trust will provide a three-year scholarship program for about 500 underprivileged university students, covering mentorship and leadership training. In the cultural sector, it will cooperate with the Cultural Heritage Bureau to build the 'Danantara Trust Library' and public learning spaces at the National Museum. Culture Minister Fadli Zon expressed gratitude, noting that the funds will help restore parts of the National Museum affected by a fire in 2023. Danantara CEO Rosan Roeslani stated that the trust has secured US$100 million in startup capital and expects to allocate at least 1% of total dividends from state-owned enterprises annually as a charitable fund for social sustainability.
