13 Members of Taipei Tour Group Seek Medical Attention for Suspected Food Poisoning in Tainan

A tour group from Taipei reported suspected food poisoning symptoms in Tainan City today. According to preliminary investigations by the Tainan City Health Bureau, the group was traveling through Taitung and Tainan when 13 people began experiencing vomiting and diarrhea starting yesterday noon, leading them to seek medical attention. The Health Bureau immediately dispatched personnel to collect samples and investigate the group's itinerary and dining situation. The group consisted of 88 people traveling from May 24 to 26. They had lunch in Taitung and dinner at the 'Evergreen Plaza Hotel Tainan' buffet. Among the 13 people who sought medical attention, two had already reported gastrointestinal discomfort before dining at the hotel. The Health Bureau inspected the hotel's operating environment and found deficiencies, including frost in the freezer and temperature records not meeting the required -18°C standard. The operator has been ordered to make improvements within a specified period, and failure to pass a follow-up inspection will result in legal penalties.
