US stocks mostly higher as market digests latest US-Iran conflict

Following a new round of conflict between the United States and Iran, the market remains optimistic that the two sides could reach an agreement to end the war in the Middle East, and Wall Street stocks mostly closed higher today. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 118.02 points, or 0.23%, to close at 50,461.68. The S&P 500 index rose 45.65 points, or 0.61%, to close at 7,519.12. The Nasdaq index surged 312.21 points, or 1.19%, to close at 26,656.18. The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index jumped 674.36 points, or 5.53%, to close at 12,876.91.
