According to AFP, Prevot posted on the social platform X: 'A tragedy occurred this morning in Buggenhout involving a collision between a train and a school bus. Four people have died, including two children.' Belgian officials said a school bus carrying seven children in the northern region collided with a train today. Two sources told AFP that the accident occurred at a level crossing in the village of Buggenhout, and there were multiple fatalities on the bus. Footage broadcast by Belgian media showed a severely damaged and overturned school bus on the road next to the tracks, with rescue workers setting up tents around it. A police spokeswoman told the media that there were seven children, one attendant, and one driver on the school bus. Belgian Interior Minister Bernard Quintin posted on X: 'My heart is with the victims and their families. I wish strength to all the injured.'
