General Interpellations Conclude; Premier Cho Jung-tai Urges Legislative Support for Defense and General Budgets

The general interpellations for the 11th Legislative Yuan's 5th session concluded today. Premier Cho Jung-tai stated that while the nation is in its best era, it also faces unprecedented challenges. He urged the Legislative Yuan to fully support the special budget for defense procurement and to accelerate the review process for the 115 central government general budget, aiming to build a more open, prosperous, and secure nation. Cho emphasized that maintaining national security and strengthening defense capabilities are as important as developing the economy and technology. The Executive Yuan has passed a special defense procurement budget, with a total requirement of approximately NT$294.99 billion, of which NT$8.8 billion is allocated for this year. Cho also requested support for various priority bills covering finance, housing, environment, social welfare, and national security.
