New Taipei City Mayor Hou Yu-ih announced today that, in consideration of the hard work of neighborhood leaders and inflation, the budget for neighborhood social activities will be increased from 4,100 TWD to 5,000 TWD, and the work assistance fee for neighborhood heads will be raised from 1,500 TWD to 2,500 TWD. During a general municipal inquiry at the New Taipei City Council, Mayor Hou explained that the decision follows requests from various political parties to align with practices in Taipei and Taoyuan cities. The base work fee for neighborhoods will increase from 600,000 TWD to 700,000 TWD, with the population threshold for the fee bracket lowered from 3,000 to 2,000 people, allowing for a maximum total of 1.18 million TWD. Additionally, funeral condolence payments for neighborhood heads will rise from 10,000 TWD to 15,000 TWD, and rental subsidies for neighborhood activity centers will increase from 20,000 TWD to 30,000 TWD per month. These measures aim to support the 1,032 neighborhood leaders and over 20,000 neighborhood heads in their grassroots service.
