(CNA, Taipei, May 26) Tigerair Taiwan announced today that it will host the 'tigerrun' event on December 12. Based on the concept of 'flying into a Japanese festival in one second,' the event offers 3.5K and 10K courses, with registration opening at noon tomorrow.
Tigerair Taiwan stated in a press release that the tigerrun event is returning this year. To celebrate the airline's 12th anniversary, the event will take place on December 12 at Dajia Riverside Park, with a limit of 8,050 participants.
Tigerair Taiwan noted that this year's theme is 'RUN TO JAPAN.' Leveraging the brand's strength in Japanese routes, the event aims to transform the Taipei city course into an immersive space filled with Japanese atmosphere.
Tigerair Taiwan offers two distances, 3.5K and 10K, with various categories including the '10K Festival Main Program' for challengers, the '3.5K Taiko Fun Group' for casual participants, and the newly introduced '3.5K Pet-Friendly Group,' allowing owners to run with small, gentle pets like dogs, cats, rabbits, and birds.
The course will feature festival-style music areas and themed aid stations, with live performances by a modern Japanese taiko drum troupe. Tigerair Taiwan added that after the race, the event venue will host a Japanese-themed market featuring various classic Japanese snacks and specialty dishes.
Tigerair Taiwan also introduced a tigerclub membership reward program. Participants who register their membership number during sign-up will automatically receive tigerpoints equivalent to the full registration fee. Completing registration grants participants a functional '2026 tigerrun commemorative shirt' and a 'Tigerair Taiwan x eminent A320neo' garment bag, with additional lucky draws on-site.
