Missing Mixed-Breed Dog 'Chen Mei-chi' Found After 500,000 TWD Reward Offered

A mixed-breed dog named 'Chen Mei-chi,' for whom a 500,000 TWD reward was offered online, was found today in the yard of a neighbor of the owner's in-laws in Erlun Township, Yunlin County. The neighbor stated that they know the owner's in-laws and would not actually take the 500,000 TWD, saying a token amount would suffice. Ms. Chen had brought 'Chen Mei-chi,' whom she has raised for 12 years, to visit her in-laws on the 24th when the dog went missing. Ms. Chen posted a high reward online and asked the police to help check surveillance footage. 'Chen Mei-chi' was found around 8:00 AM today in a neighbor's yard about 800 meters from the in-laws' home. The neighbor who found the dog said their son saw the dog running around and guessed it might be hiding in their yard. When Ms. Chen received the news, she and her husband rushed to the neighbor's home and hugged 'Chen Mei-chi.' Ms. Chen told the media that she was very grateful to everyone who helped find her dog and those who offered advice online. However, she also received hundreds of scam calls during this time, including AI-generated fake images, and faced online accusations of fraud, which left her exhausted. She now just wants to take 'Chen Mei-chi' home and will provide a reward.
