The Foundation stated that these reports aim to portray Ma Ying-jeou as having violent tendencies and to intimidate Wang. The Foundation reiterated that Ma Ying-jeou has never committed any acts of violence against Wang, and that his security detail can attest to his lack of violent behavior in daily life. Regarding reports of Wang's 'shock,' the Foundation explained that she has a medical history of hyperventilation due to excessive alcohol consumption, and that the media reports deliberately distorted these facts. Regarding the kneeling incident, the Foundation stated that Ma reprimanded Wang for traveling to Beijing without permission, and Wang suddenly knelt to apologize, which left Ma bewildered.
