(CNA, Taipei, May 26) Global PCB drill manufacturer Topoint held its shareholder meeting today and approved a private placement of unsecured convertible bonds with a total ceiling of NT$600 million. Three major industry players—Unimicron, Gold Circuit, and Zhen Ding-KY—will participate as strategic investors. Topoint is steadily advancing its 2026 expansion plan, aiming to reach a monthly capacity of 45 million drills by the end of this year.
Topoint approved its 2025 business report and financial statements, and resolved to distribute a cash dividend of NT$2 per share.
Benefiting from the rapid growth in AI, High-Performance Computing (HPC), and high-speed communication applications, Topoint's high-end drill product structure has been optimized. Last year's consolidated revenue reached NT$4.41 billion, up 25% year-on-year, with a net profit of NT$389 million, up 89%. EPS for the year was NT$2.75.
In the first quarter of this year, Topoint's net profit attributable to the parent company was NT$169 million, up 12.7% quarter-on-quarter and 225% year-on-year, reaching over 40% of last year's total profit in just one quarter. Cumulative revenue for the first four months of this year reached NT$1.865 billion, a 54.21% increase year-on-year.
To accelerate technological upgrades and deepen long-term partnerships, Topoint approved the private placement of unsecured convertible bonds today.
Topoint explained that this private placement introduces three major industry leaders—Unimicron, Gold Circuit, and Zhen Ding-KY—as strategic investors. Unimicron has already received approval from the Taiwan Stock Exchange to participate in the subscription up to NT$210 million.
Topoint stated that as AI and HPC chips move toward higher pin counts and signal density, ABF substrates are accelerating toward higher layer counts and finer holes. The importance of high-end substrate drills for processing yield and drilling stability continues to rise. The three strategic partners cover high-end substrates, AI servers, and advanced electronic applications, aligning well with Topoint's high-end drill technology development.
Regarding capacity, Topoint noted that funds raised from this private placement will be fully used to purchase the new Zhongli plant in Taiwan to expand capacity for high-end products like micro-drills and high-performance coated drills.
Topoint stated that its 2026 expansion plan is on track. Monthly drill capacity has been rising from 35 million since April and is expected to reach at least 45 million by year-end. As new capacity comes online starting in Q2, shipment scale, product mix, and operational efficiency are expected to optimize quarter by quarter.
Topoint added that the Shanghai and Zhongli plants are under construction, while the Thailand production base, which began operations in 2025, is entering a stage of stable growth. (Edited by Chang Liang-chih) 1150526
