NPO EPO (Edogawa-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director: Erika Mori) will again implement the "Welfare Equipment Exhibition Concierge" at Kids Festa Tokyo 2026, to be held on April 18-19, 2026. Aimed at children with severe motor and intellectual disabilities and their families, experienced physical therapists (PT) and occupational therapists (OT) in the pediatric and welfare fields will accompany them at the exhibition venue, supporting the selection of welfare equipment and how to navigate the venue according to the child's needs. This year, pre-consultation will be newly introduced on April 12. By pre-designing the content, it will provide an exhibition experience that allows them to efficiently reach the necessary products.
Welfare Equipment Exhibition Concierge
The Welfare Equipment Exhibition is a valuable opportunity to encounter many products and information, but for children with severe motor and intellectual disabilities and their families, it is difficult to fully explore due to the venue's size, crowd, and sheer volume of information. Furthermore, there are many voices such as "I don't know which equipment is right for me" and "I'm confused about what to prioritize within a limited time," resulting in many cases where the full value of the exhibition cannot be utilized.
At COCOLON, professionals accompany children with severe motor and intellectual disabilities and their families, organizing and proposing products and booths to see from a perspective that considers their physical condition and living environment. Furthermore, by organizing information between manufacturers and families, it reduces the anxiety of "not knowing what to see" and supports them in obtaining necessary information even within a limited time.
Pre-Consultation Session [Child Development Support Room]
Held on Sunday, April 12
This year, we are newly introducing "pre-consultation" that allows consultations face-to-face or online before the exhibition. By organizing wishes, living environment, and concerns in advance, it becomes possible to pre-list the products and booths to check, leading to a more efficient and satisfying exhibition experience. Instead of "getting lost on the spot," we will prepare a state of "checking and comparing with purpose," and provide advice to enhance the quality of comparison and consideration...
