Coin Palace Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Chuo Ward, Kobe), an official distributor of The Royal Mint (UK), has released the 'United Kingdom 2026 Game of Thrones 15th Anniversary Gold/Silver Coins' on July 15, 2026 (Wednesday). These rare British coins are popular for asset preservation.

Product Overview

'Game of Thrones' (GoT) is a fantasy drama series produced by HBO, the American cable network, based on George R.R. Martin's fantasy novel 'A Song of Ice and Fire.' It achieved historic global success.

Airing from 2011 to 2019, the eight-season, 73-episode epic became a beloved television phenomenon, standing alongside hits like 'LOST' and 'The Walking Dead.'

The story centers on the vast fictional continent of 'Westeros' and the eastern continent 'Essos' across the sea, weaving together three main storylines that converge into one epic narrative.

The first storyline is the 'Struggle for the Iron Throne.' Powerful noble houses (House Stark, House Lannister, House Baratheon, etc.) battle for control of the 'Iron Throne,' which rules over the Seven Kingdoms, engaging in conspiracies, betrayals, alliances, and wars.

The second is the 'Threat from the North (The Wall’s Defense).' At the northern edge of Westeros stands a massive ice wall (The Wall), protecting the kingdoms from outlaws and 'wildlings.' Beyond it, however, the legendary undead race known as the 'White Walkers' awaken, threatening to destroy humanity. The Night's Watch stands as the last line of defense against this existential threat.

The third is the 'Restoration of an Ancient Dynasty.' Daenerys Targaryen, the last survivor of the Targaryen dynasty overthrown by revolution, expands her power in the east. She hatches 'dragons'—believed to be extinct—and leads an army to reclaim her ancestral throne in Westeros, wielding their overwhelming power.

Renowned for its epic scale, unpredictable twists, and realistic portrayal of human emotions, love, hatred, and power struggles, 'Game of Thrones' marks its 15th anniversary since its 2011 premiere. To commemorate this milestone, The Royal Mint has announced the release of special commemorative coins.

This release features two symbolic coins representing the series. Mirroring the title of the original work, 'A Song of Ice and Fire,' the coins reflect the opposing forces of 'Ice' and 'Fire' present in the story.

'Ice' symbolizes the undead army of White Walkers emerging from the far north—an embodiment of 'death' and 'winter' that freezes everything in its path.

The reverse of the Ice coin features the Night King, the absolute ruler of the White Walkers, depicted with a powerful and stern expression.

'Fire' represents the 'dragons' arriving from the eastern continent—symbols of 'life' and 'destruction' with overwhelming heat that incinerates enemies, and also a source of magic.

The reverse of the Fire coin features one of the three dragons hatched by Daenerys in the series, designed with a menacing expression and dramatic flame effects.

The designer of both coins is Fion Ries, who also worked on the Spice Girls design for the Music Legends series.

The obverse features a left-facing portrait of King Charles III, designed by Martin Jennings.

These symbolic coins, commemorating the 15th anniversary of Game of Thrones, are undoubtedly coveted collector’s items—not only for coin collectors but also for fans of the series.

Don’t miss your chance to own one.
