His overseas "business trips" are frequent, not just within Kumamoto and Japan, but also to China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, France, Thailand, and more, earning him popularity from around the globe. Kumamon's base of operations is 'Kumamon Square.' The regular Kumamon stage performances, limited-time events, and original merchandise are extremely popular. It has become one of Kumamoto Prefecture's leading tourist spots, attracting many visitors not only from within Japan but also from Asian countries such as Taiwan, Hong Kong, China, and Thailand, as well as from around the world. Kumamon Square will celebrate its 13th anniversary in July 2026. To commemorate this, Kumamon Square will host the 13th Anniversary Project 'Oshi-katsu Matsuri!' (Event Period: July 18 (Sat) - July 26 (Sun)). The theme of the project is 'Oshi-katsu' (fan activities), and various events are planned to 'support' Kumamon, a global idol. The idol-style trading cards of Kumamon, specially photographed for 'Oshi-katsu Matsuri!', come in 9 different designs. Each pack contains 3 cards, and the contents are a surprise until you open them.
