Makita Sports, a multi-talented entertainer known as a comedian, actor, and musician, will host a live event at Cotton Club in Tokyo on Wednesday, September 16, 2026.

'LIVE@Makita Sports' is a signature live series that features diverse guests and centers on Makita's unique 'oto-neta' (sound-based comedy) performances. Since 2022, the venue has moved to Cotton Club, where past guests have included Shofukutei Ichinosuke, Shimizu Michiko, Shimazu Aya, and Motokoto Yoh.

This time, the event welcomes Taburet Jun, a maverick who has established the new genre of 'mood kayo manzai' (a fusion of nostalgic Japanese pop music and comedic storytelling).

Taburet Jun developed a passion for classic kayo music in childhood and joined the legendary mood kayo group 'Wada Hiroshi and Mahina Stars' at age 27. After the group disbanded, he began performing at rakugo theaters and comedy live shows in January 2011.

The highly anticipated show will bring together two artists connected by a spirit of comedy, delivering a supreme entertainment experience on the Cotton Club stage.

Details were unveiled today at 6:00 PM. The live event will be held in two fully replaced shows. Tickets will be available via web pre-sale starting Tuesday, July 21 at 12:00 PM, and phone reservations starting Thursday, July 23 at 12:00 PM, through the Cotton Club website.

We've previously welcomed diverse guests such as Shofukutei Ichinosuke, Shimizu Michiko, and Motokoto Yoh, with the collaboration between guest and Makita in the second half of the show being a major highlight.
