Co-op Mirai (Headquarters: Saitama City, Saitama Prefecture; Representative Director and Chairman: Shin Kumazaki; service areas: Chiba, Saitama, and Tokyo Prefectures, hereinafter 'Co-op Mirai') held its first-ever 'Co-op Ichikawa Store Health Festival' on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at the Co-op Ichikawa Store (Kikodai, Ichikawa City) in cooperation with the Ichikawa City Council of Social Welfare.

This initiative was launched with the goal of contributing to community residents' health promotion from the perspective of frailty prevention.

On the day, many visitors experienced five health-check corners:

- Walking Age Assessment Corner

Participants walked 6 meters, and based on the results indicating their walking posture age, volunteer activity supporters※ provided personalized advice.

※Activity Supporters: Member volunteers who assist in operating the walking age assessment.

- Vegetable Intake Assessment Corner

Using a device that estimates vegetable consumption by simply placing a hand over it, participants checked whether their vegetable intake was sufficient, encouraging reflection on daily eating habits.

- Hearing Age Assessment Corner

Participants checked their 'ear age' using high-frequency 'mosquito tones' that become harder to hear with age.

- Ichikawa City Council of Social Welfare Corner

The council shared information about its health-related initiatives and introduced mini-exercises and stretching routines from 'Terubo Salons'—community gathering spots active at 130 locations across Ichikawa City as of July in Reiwa 8.

- Co-op Ichikawa Store Seafood Corner

The seafood section hosted a kanji quiz about fish beneficial for brain health, provided educational content on fish nutrition, and offered tastings of different fish sausages to highlight the appeal of seafood products.

Visitors who enjoyed the stamp rally and completed health checks at each corner were entered into a lottery to win Co-op products that support healthy living.

[Participant Feedback]

The next event, the 'Co-op Higashifukai Store Health Festival,' is scheduled for Saturday, October 31, 2026, at the Co-op Higashifukai Store.

Co-op Mirai will continue advancing well-being-focused initiatives to help community members live rich, healthy lives both physically and mentally.
