eiicon, operator of the open innovation platform 'AUBA' (Headquarters: Toranomon, Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Ayuko Nakamura), announced that two additional startups have been selected for the 'Next 5G Social Innovation Program' (the Program), which eiicon plans and operates under an agreement with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. Recruitment for pilot field providers and collaborative development partners has also commenced.

With this addition, the total number of startups supported by the program is now four.

Simultaneously, KDDI Corporation (Headquarters: Takanawa, Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Hiroshi Matsuda) has joined the initiative as a collaboration partner.

'Next 5G Social Innovation Program' (Development Promoter: eiicon)

Overview The Next 5G Social Innovation Program is a startup co-creation program planned and operated by eiicon. The objective is to provide three years of comprehensive support—from business development to social implementation—to startups possessing technology and services that leverage next-generation communication technology (5G/Beyond 5G) to improve the quality of life (QOL) for Tokyo residents.

Under the framework of the 'Next-Generation Communication Technology Utilization Startup Support Project' implemented by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, eiicon drives collaboration between selected startups and partner companies. eiicon provides multifaceted support, including business development mentoring, network utilization, and public relations, to each project formed through these collaborations, aiming to create new societal value based on next-generation communication technology.

Two Newly Selected Startups

MODE, inc. Provides the IoT platform 'BizStack.' It integrates dispersed field data from sensors, cameras, etc., and realizes data utilization in natural language via AI. This contributes to field visualization, labor saving, and improved decision-making.

Skyfarm, Inc. Provides the facility-specialized mobile ordering system 'NEW PORT.' It enhances operational efficiency and customer experience in commercial facilities and office buildings, contributing to solving labor shortages and creating new purchasing experiences. Recently, the company has also expanded services combining mobile ordering with robot delivery.
