Project Overview

As administrative challenges become increasingly complex and diverse, central government agencies require personnel with higher expertise and varied experiences. To address this, 23 central government agencies are jointly conducting the 'National Public Service Experienced Recruitment Examination'. To broaden outreach, En is supporting the Cabinet Personnel Bureau of the Cabinet Office in publicizing the recruitment examination, enabling wider dissemination.

Recruitment is being conducted under two categories. Under the Inter-Ministerial Track A, 'equivalent to comprehensive staff (section chief level)' positions are being recruited, primarily responsible for policy planning and drafting legislation within central ministries. Under Inter-Ministerial Track B, 'equivalent to general staff (section chief level)' positions are being recruited to implement policies and projects within central ministries and local offices nationwide. Specialized knowledge in law or economics is not required; candidates are expected to contribute using insights and experiences gained from private-sector work.

The first-stage examination consists of a written common test (basic aptitude and experience-based essay), followed by individual interviews in the second stage (*1). Successful candidates will proceed to 'agency visits (interviews)' with their preferred ministries before final placement. The first-stage examination will be held in nine cities nationwide, from Hokkaido to Okinawa, providing broad access (*2). Additionally, examination qualifications remain valid for five years, allowing candidates to transition at their preferred timing, even if immediate career change is difficult.

En will support recruitment promotion through job sites such as 'En Job,' 'Ambi (AMBI),' and 'Middle Career Job,' providing comprehensive support from recruitment to post-hire success and retention. We welcome applications from mission-driven individuals eager to apply their expertise for the public good and bring fresh perspectives to public administration.

(*1) Only Inter-Ministerial Track A includes a 'Policy Issue Discussion Test' in group session format during the second-stage examination. (*2) Second-stage examination locations vary by test.
