freee K.K. has launched a custom SCIM (System for Cross-domain Identity Management) integration feature for its SaaS and device management tool 'freee IT Management'. This represents the first custom SCIM integration offered by a SaaS management platform in Japan. As organizations adopt more SaaS and AI tools, manual management of user accounts during onboarding, organizational changes, and offboarding creates high workloads and security risks, such as shadow accounts of former employees. While standard integrations support key platforms, custom SCIM integration enables organizations to automate account provisioning, synchronization, and deprovisioning for any SaaS product that exposes a SCIM API, even if not natively supported by freee IT Management. The integration also supports flexible data mapping, allowing administrators to customize which employee attributes are synchronized to meet company policies and security guidelines. By automating account lifecycle management, the solution reduces operational overhead, eliminates unnecessary licensing costs from unused accounts, and strengthens IT governance.
