Automating Accounting Voucher Entry with Generative AI: Tokyu Aims for 5,000 Hours of Annual Labor Reduction

NTT DATA Corporation, NTT DATA Biz∫, and WingArc1st, Inc. conducted a verification project in fiscal year 2025 to enhance accounting operations at Tokyu Corporation using generative AI. In this project, the ERP package 'Biz∫' was integrated with the generative AI platform 'dejiren AI' to automate invoice processing and voucher entry. As a result, a maximum work reduction of 38% in accounting voucher entry was estimated, aiming for a total reduction of approximately 5,000 hours per year at Tokyu. Furthermore, the AI-based check function confirmed improvements in error detection at the application stage and standardization of verification criteria. This initiative confirmed the effectiveness of applying generative AI to accounting tasks that involve non-standardized information. Moving forward, the companies will consider expanding this to other accounting tasks and deploying it across Tokyu Group companies.
