COUNTERWORKS, a company digitalizing commercial real estate to build new infrastructure, announced its membership in the Japan Retail Association as a supporting member. The association, established in May 1978, addresses common retail industry challenges, facilitating cooperation and digital transformation (DX) discussions. Retail stores increasingly serve as vital brand touchpoints, yet face labor shortages and rising costs. COUNTERWORKS operates 'SHOPCOUNTER', an online search/booking platform for pop-up shops with 87,000 tenants registered as of March 2026. It also provides 'SHOPCOUNTER Enterprise', a SaaS-based leasing DX system used in over 1,500 commercial facilities. Through this membership, COUNTERWORKS aims to strengthen ties within the retail industry, share its leasing DX expertise, and expand the potential of physical stores.
