Amidst rising interest in male grooming, interest in men's hair removal is growing annually. However, there has been little visibility regarding the actual impressions women hold toward men's facial and body hair.

CustomLife Medical conducted a survey among followers of 'homenote' (approx. 180,000 followers), the official account of its parent company, CustomLife Inc., alongside an internet survey. The 'Survey on Men's Hair Removal from a Female Perspective' targeted women aged 20 to 69 nationwide.

The results showed that nearly half of the women have experienced a negative impact on a man's first impression in a business setting due to his facial or body hair. Additionally, 41% of women have felt that their partner should get hair removal or have recommended it to them.

In conclusion, this survey reveals that nearly half of women have had experiences where a man's facial or body hair negatively influenced their first impression in a business context. Furthermore, 41% of women have expressed a desire for their partner to undergo hair removal.

These results suggest that men's hair removal is not merely about changing one's appearance, but is perceived as a form of grooming that conveys cleanliness and self-management awareness.

By body part, many women expressed concern about chest and abdominal hair, with relatively low resistance to hair removal in these areas. Conversely, 37% of respondents felt that VIO (intimate area) hair removal should be avoided, indicating significant differences in perception depending on the area.

In both business and personal relationships, cleanliness is a crucial factor in shaping first impressions. Carefully considering which areas to groom is essential for maintaining one's identity while ensuring a positive impression.
