The action-shooting game 'Earth Defense Force 5', which was released for PlayStation®4, PlayStation®5, and PC and captivated 2 million users worldwide, is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2. Players can experience the despair of approaching giant enemies and the overwhelming exhilaration of mowing down hordes of enemies on the Nintendo Switch 2.
The 'Earth Defense Force' series originated from a title in the SIMPLE2000 series released in 2003. The world setting of 'Earth Defense Force 5' has been completely revamped from previous series entries, starting a new story. The content is designed to be enjoyable even for those who are new to the series.
Furthermore, the latest numbered title in the series, 'Earth Defense Force 6', a direct sequel to 'Earth Defense Force 5', is also scheduled for release on Nintendo Switch 2 this winter. Please wait for further details.
New Features of the Nintendo Switch 2 Version
Local Wireless Play: In addition to the traditional online co-op play for up to 4 players, the Nintendo Switch 2 version newly supports local wireless play. Players can bring their Nintendo Switch 2 consoles together with friends or family and enjoy co-op play for up to 4 people (*1).
2-Player Split-Screen Play: It also supports 2-player simultaneous play (*2) via split-screen.
*1 Online and local wireless play require one Nintendo Switch 2 console and one copy of the game software per player.
