Why Can't They Read Sheet Music? Nationwide Seminars on Solfège Lessons for Teachers

Hinagiku Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Nerima-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Mika Ojima) will host a nationwide seminar series for music educators titled 'Solfège Lessons That Engage Both Students and Teachers,' starting in June 2026. The seminars are based on the book 'Students Change! A New Textbook for Solfège Instruction' (published by Yamaha Music Entertainment Holdings). The book has been reprinted within a month of its release, gaining significant attention from music educators and piano teachers. The seminar offers hands-on experience in solfège instruction through singing, moving, and feeling. Many teachers face challenges where students cannot read sheet music or struggle to express themselves despite being able to play notes. This seminar addresses these issues by introducing concrete teaching methods that foster sensitivity and understanding. The seminars will be held in four locations across Japan.
