DECENCIA Inc. (Shinagawa, Tokyo; CEO: Hidemitsu Nishino), a member of the Pola Orbis Group, launched the 'Sensitivity Score' self-check content on May 21, 2026, to help consumers objectively understand their skin condition.

Utilizing an algorithm developed by Pola Chemical Industries, the 'Sensitivity Score' evaluates skin sensitivity on a scale of 0 to 300 based on just three questions. The results are visualized across four sensitivity levels and 13 sensitivity types.

Research by Pola Chemical Industries revealed that 78% of people who claimed their skin was 'not particularly sensitive' actually exhibited signs of sensitivity. This 'unconscious sensitivity' often stems from overlooked daily triggers like seasonal changes, sweat, or friction from clothing.

The tool categorizes sensitivity factors into four perspectives: chemical irritation, physical irritation, internal environment, and lifestyle. By identifying which of the 13 types a user belongs to, the tool provides insights into why their skin fluctuates and what kind of care they should prioritize, all based on long-term clinical data and dermatological expertise.
