The Distribution Economics Institute of Japan (DEI) has launched a 'Sustainability Initiatives Survey' for food manufacturing and retail companies starting June 2, 2026. The study aims to visualize industry trends and provide participating companies with free analytical reports.

The Distribution Economics Institute of Japan (Location: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Hiroki Kato) launched its 'Sustainability Initiatives Survey' for food manufacturing and food retail businesses on June 2, 2026. We are widely recruiting companies to participate in this survey.

In recent years, amid the demand for a transition to sustainable management—including food loss reduction and human rights considerations—realities vary significantly among companies, and comprehensive quantitative surveys are currently limited. This study aims to clarify the status of sustainability efforts in the food industry and serve as basic material for future policy planning and industry-wide sustainable growth.

Participants from the food industry (sustainability managers) will provide answers via a Web questionnaire. Participating companies will receive a free survey result report, providing information such as their relative standing within the industry and analysis/insights derived from the study.
