De'Longhi Group (Headquarters: Treviso, Italy) is proud to announce that its global campaign 'Tiny Coffee Shops' has won both the highest award, the Grand Prix in the Industry Craft Lions category, and a Gold award in the Outdoor Lions category at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity 2026, one of the world's largest advertising and creative festivals, held in Cannes, France.

The awarded work was submitted as 'The World’s Smallest Coffee Shops,' an installation created in collaboration with world-renowned miniature artist Simon Weisse, which garnered significant attention when unveiled at Milan Design Week 2026. At Cannes Lions, the project was highly praised for its exceptional craftsmanship in intricate miniature modeling and its innovative approach to expressing the premium coffee experience at home provided by De'Longhi fully automatic coffee machines. This recognition led to the achievement of these two prestigious awards. The work was inspired by coffee cultures in five major cities worldwide, including Tokyo, with the Tokyo model, in particular, receiving considerable attention and coverage at the awards ceremony.

*This campaign was publicly announced as 'The World's Smallest Coffee Shops,' but the title for the project theme and the awarded work is 'Tiny Coffee Shops.'

About the 'Tiny Coffee Shops' Concept

This project was realized in collaboration with miniature artist Simon Weisse, who has over a decade of experience creating intricate props, dioramas, and miniature sets for films such as 'The Grand Budapest Hotel' and 'Asteroid City.'

Five miniature works, inspired by the coffee cultures of Paris, Tokyo, Milan, Copenhagen, and Berlin, were created and integrated with De'Longhi's fully automatic coffee machines: 'Rivelia,' 'Magnifica Evo Next,' 'Eletta Ultra,' 'Eletta Explore,' and 'Primadonna Aromatic.' Under the concept, 'The Smallest Coffee Shop at Home. – The smallest coffee shop is your De'Longhi at home. –', the project conveys that the rich experience of a coffee shop can also be enjoyed in one's own home.

Each piece embodies the distinct coffee culture and unique character of its respective city through exquisite miniature artistry. Through this initiative, De'Longhi challenges the conventional notion that a premium coffee experience is exclusive to coffee shops, communicating the brand message that customers can enjoy coffee shop quality at home.

Pop-up Event Held in Tokyo Following the Same Concept

A hands-on pop-up event, 'The Smallest Coffee Shop at Home – TOKYO Edition –,' was held in Tokyo for a limited three days from Friday, May 29, 2026, to Sunday, May 31, 2026, attracting a large number of visitors.

The venue was designed as a sophisticated space, reminiscent of an art gallery, based on the world created for Milan Design Week 2026. It featured visuals of works by miniature artist Simon Weisse, artist introductions, and a making-of movie that offered a glimpse behind the scenes.

Visitors enjoyed a 'cold brew' extracted by a fully automatic coffee machine as a welcome drink while touring the gallery. Afterward, they selected their 'cup to enjoy at home' from five menu options, ranging from hot to iced, and black to milk-based drinks. They then received an original key, resembling a house key, along with their chosen menu, to exchange for a freshly brewed coffee. The latte art demonstrations by baristas, held twice daily, were also a great success. Limited edition novelties, such as De'Longhi's original miniature pair cups, were distributed to respondents of a survey, who highly praised them.

With approximately 3,500 visitors over the three days, primarily on the weekend, it was a valuable opportunity to impress upon many people De'Longhi's proposed 'premium coffee experience at home.'
