Delta Electronics’ Energy Storage Systems 'C Series' and 'PCS3000' Achieve JC-STAR Level 1 Certification

Delta Electronics Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative: Hua Chien-Hao) announces that its grid- and customer-side all-in-one energy storage system 'C Series' and power conversion system 'PCS3000' have obtained Level 1 (★1) certification under the security requirements conformity assessment and labeling program 'JC-STAR (Japan Cyber-Security Technical Assessment Requirements)', operated by the Information-Technology Promotion Agency (IPA), an independent administrative institution.

With this certification, both the C Series and PCS3000 meet Japan's domestic cybersecurity requirements, enabling businesses and end-users to use these products with greater confidence.

This integrated solution, combining energy storage, control systems, and operation software, has established a framework to verify cybersecurity compliance across all components.

Significance of Certification – Anticipating Grid Interconnection Requirements from April 2027

At the 21st meeting of the Grid Code Study Group of the Organization for Cross-regional Coordination of Transmission Operators (OCCTO), it was decided that solar power generation and battery storage systems newly connecting to the grid from April 2027 onward must use control systems (PCS, EMS, etc.) with communication functions certified under JC-STAR Level 1 as a mandatory technical requirement for grid interconnection [1]. With this certification, the C Series complies with this requirement and can continue to be used in grid interconnection projects after April 2027. The PCS3000 power conversion system has also obtained this certification as a standalone unit.

Additionally, this certification meets the eligibility criteria for various government and local government subsidies, enabling adoption in energy storage system installations utilizing subsidies without concerns about compliance.
