Denkikogyo Develops Vertical Heat Treatment Equipment Reducing Machine Height and Cycle Time

Denkikogyo Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Koto-ku, Tokyo; President: Tadatoshi Kondo) has developed vertical heat treatment equipment featuring the 'Dual Shift Method,' which synchronizes the movement of the workpiece and the heating coil. A prototype has been installed at the company's Tokai Heat Treatment Research Center in Okazaki City, Aichi Prefecture.

The introduction of this equipment enables prototyping for long components such as automotive drive shafts, allowing for faster condition studies and evaluations for mass production. A patent application is currently pending for the technologies used in this equipment.

[Key Features (Dual Shift Method)] - By adopting a configuration that simultaneously moves the workpiece and the heating coil, the machine height has been reduced by approximately 35%, and the recovery time after heating has been cut by roughly 1/2 compared to conventional models. - The low-height design minimizes constraints during transport and installation, improving portability (e.g., eliminating the need for large-scale trailer transport or the task of laying the machine horizontally during move-in). - The equipment is easier to install in factories with low ceilings, allowing for flexible deployment according to the site conditions.
