A survey conducted by smileline Inc. and Komagome Ekimae Dental Clinic among 500 people in their 40s to 60s revealed that 65.4% feel their dental condition affects their life satisfaction. The biggest perceived loss due to dental issues is "meal satisfaction" (38.6%), followed by "appearance and first impression" (25.0%). Furthermore, 14.6% estimated the value of time, experiences, and opportunities lost to dental trouble to be over 300,000 yen. While over half regret not taking better care of their teeth in the past, 66.8% are proactive about preventive care for the future to avoid invisible losses and maintain their quality of life.
