One-Minute Walk from Enoshima Station: Seaside House 'AfterSurf ClubHouse' Launches as a Cultural Hub for Creative Sessions

Digress-Lab LLC (Chuo City, Tokyo; Representative: Hiroshige Uchida) will officially launch 'AfterSurf ClubHouse,' a hybrid cultural space in Shonan's Katase-Enoshima, in July 2026.

Kicking off its post-preopening phase is 'NichiNichi vol.3' (curated by RETSU NARUSHIMA and MUMA), an art event originating from Shonan's Kugenuma. From July 18 (Sat) to 20 (Mon, national holiday), including Marine Day, the seaside house—just one minute from the station—will transform into a 'living artwork' where diverse expressions such as painting, photography, language, music, and food come together.

ABOUT · What is AfterSurf ClubHouse? — A Hub for Creative Exchange in Shonan

AfterSurf ClubHouse is a hybrid cultural space built around the concept of 'a place where sessions happen.' Centered on a 108㎡ garden, it features seven distinct areas: studio & gallery, lounge, pop-up kitchen, private room, board locker, and 'Cafe Clam Chowder Enoshima.' The space is open for exhibitions, photo shoots, house studio use, events, and rentals.

The goal is to become a 'hub' where Shonan’s scattered communities—creatives, surfers, food operators, and artists—naturally connect. As a place where human interactions and creative sessions emerge organically, it aims to cultivate a daily rhythm of openness and shared time by the sea.

OPENING · The First Three Days — N i c h i N i c h i v o l . 3

NichiNichi began in 2024 as an art event that temporarily transforms vacant storefronts in Kugenuma’s shopping district into art spaces for a few days. Inspired by the Zen phrase 'Nichinichi Kore Kounichi' ('Every day is a good day'), it blends exhibitions with food, workshops, and live music into a single 'living artwork.' After previously using empty shops and studios, NichiNichi has chosen AfterSurf ClubHouse as the venue for its third edition. This exhibition, where diverse expressions converge, marks the first full realization of the venue’s concept.
