Devarana Wellness, the flagship wellness facility at Dusit Thani Kyoto—a luxury property managed by the Thai-based Dusit International—will introduce the 'Five Elements Treatment with ESPA' starting June 1, 2026. This limited-time summer offering utilizes products from the renowned British skincare brand ESPA. Notably, Devarana Wellness recently achieved a four-star rating in the spa category of the Forbes Travel Guide 2026. As the sole provider of ESPA-branded treatments in Kyoto Prefecture, the facility aims to address seasonal fatigue and humidity-related discomfort through a premium wellness experience.
The program aligns with 'Well-being,' one of the four key pillars of the Dusit brand. Devarana Wellness, which translates from Sanskrit as 'Garden in Heaven,' focuses on the fusion of Eastern and Western therapies, combining traditional Thai concepts with delicate Japanese techniques.
The treatment begins with a personalized consultation where guests select from signature ESPA oils based on the five elements: Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water. This is followed by a body treatment designed to restore physical and mental balance. A highlight of the session is the scalp treatment using 'ESPA Pink Hair & Scalp Mud.' This mineral-rich mask, containing red clay and apricot kernel oil, is specifically chosen to counteract summer issues such as UV damage and scalp oiliness, leaving the hair smooth and refreshed.
Located near the Nishi Hongan-ji World Heritage site, Dusit Thani Kyoto opened in September 2023. The hotel has received international acclaim, including two consecutive years of 'Michelin Keys' and a four-star rating from the Forbes Travel Guide for both its hotel and spa operations in 2026.
