Overview

Dwilar, Inc. (Headquarters: California, USA / CEO: Yoshitaka Nakamura), provider of the foreigner credit assessment service 'Lita', has launched a cross-border credit scheme leveraging home-country credit information in collaboration with E-HOUSING Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo / CEO: Erik Nasriddinov), a real estate intermediary specializing in foreign nationals, and ORICO Foreigner Insurance Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo / President & CEO: Mio Nakabayashi), which provides rental guarantee services. The initiative begins in May 2026.

Under this scheme, Dwilar acquires and analyzes credit data from applicants’ home countries and jointly calculates a credit score with E-HOUSING. As global hiring expands, many foreign nationals face rejection from housing applications due to 'lack of credit history in Japan.' This scheme implements a system to evaluate creditworthiness across borders, overcoming this barrier.

Three-Party Collaboration Framework

Each company plays the following role in the scheme:

Company

Role

Dwilar

Acquisition and Analysis of Home-Country Credit Information

Collects and analyzes credit data from the applicant’s home country—including default history, payment delays, income stability, and outstanding debts—and jointly calculates a credit score with E-HOUSING

E-HOUSING

Domestic Data Collection and Score Integration

Gathers qualitative data in Japan—such as employer, residency status, income, and intended living area—and jointly calculates an integrated score with Dwilar

ORICO Foreigner Insurance

Rental Guarantee Assessment and Provision

Conducts swift and accurate guarantee evaluations and provides rental guarantee services to property management companies (landlords)

Why Now?

People can cross borders—but until now, 'credit' could not. No matter how responsibly someone paid bills in their home country, upon arrival in Japan, their credit history was treated as nonexistent. This is not a matter of foreigners being 'untrustworthy,' but a structural issue in social infrastructure: credit data does not cross borders.

As global hiring accelerates, securing housing in Japan remains a major hurdle for foreign nationals. According to the latest survey by the Immigration Services Agency, many foreigners face challenges in finding housing due to language barriers, lack of guarantors, and complex contract procedures.

At the root is a structural gap: overseas credit information cannot be accessed in Japan, creating burdens for property managers (landlords) and employers alike.

This scheme enables cross-border credit evaluation by leveraging home-country credit histories through the collaboration of Dwilar and E-HOUSING. Furthermore, ORICO Foreigner Insurance provides rental guarantee services for these lease agreements, ensuring fair, data-driven assessments and peace of mind. This initiative aims to resolve challenges for both applicants and landlords.

Dwilar’s Role — Cross-Border Credit via 'Lita'

Dwilar’s 'Lita' service collects credit information from applicants’ home countries—including default history, payment delays, income stability, and outstanding debts—and analyzes it using proprietary algorithms. This data is integrated with qualitative information collected by E-HOUSING in Japan—such as employment, residency status, and income—and both companies jointly calculate a credit score.

This score serves as a reference in ORICO Foreigner Insurance’s guarantee assessment process. As a result, foreign applicants can secure housing more smoothly, while property managers benefit from higher occupancy rates.

'Lita' analyzes the enduring record of individual integrity that remains consistent across borders. Dwilar is implementing a system that allows individuals arriving in Japan to carry forward the credit they built in their home countries, turning it into a foundation for life in Japan.

Executive Statement

"People can cross borders. But until now, 'credit' could not. No matter how responsibly someone paid in their home country, the moment they arrived in Japan, their history was reset to zero. This is not a personal trust issue—it’s a social infrastructure problem: credit data cannot cross borders.

Through 'Lita,' Dwilar connects the credit individuals built at home to their housing access in Japan. By collaborating with E-HOUSING and ORICO Foreigner Insurance, we aim to realize a society where people can carry forward their credit from day one in Japan."
