e-dash Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Touma Yamazaki; hereinafter "the Company") has been appointed as the secretariat for the Ministry of the Environment's "FY2026 Project to Build New Renewable Energy Introduction Models Contributing to Value Chain Decarbonization," which aims to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across the entire value chain.
In conjunction with this, we are launching a recruitment drive for a study group composed of companies and PPA providers (Note 1), etc., to participate in this project. The application period is from Tuesday, June 9, 2026, to Wednesday, July 8, 2026.
Note 1: A provider that manages renewable energy generation. PPA stands for "Power Purchase Agreement."
Background and Project Overview
To achieve a decarbonized society, expanding the introduction of renewable energy is essential for reducing a company's own emissions and strengthening resilience. While the PPA model (Note 2), which allows introduction with reduced initial costs, is an effective means, its widespread adoption among small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) remains a challenge, as it requires a certain business scale and creditworthiness from the adopting companies.
In light of this situation, this project aims to establish a new form of introduction by bringing together numerous companies through inter-company collaboration within the value chain (hereinafter "VC") and commercializing the PPA model collectively. Furthermore, we will deepen our considerations for accelerating GHG emission reductions across the entire VC, including Scope 3, by addressing creditworthiness issues through engagement by leading companies and contributions of funds as decarbonization investments.
The Company will fully leverage its on-site understanding and specialized knowledge gained through its end-to-end system for visualizing and reducing GHG emissions. By acting as a bridge between end-users from large corporations to SMEs, PPA providers, and retail electricity providers, we aim for social implementation as a sustainable business model and horizontal expansion nationwide. Through these efforts, we will build a foundation that provides easy access to renewable energy for everyone and contribute to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
Note 2: PPA Model: A system that allows companies and local governments seeking to introduce solar power generation to install solar power generation systems without initial costs by contracting with a company that manages solar power generation (PPA provider) instead of an electricity company.
Implementation Details
This project will recruit and support initiatives such as surveys and plan development for building new renewable energy introduction models.
The recruitment targets study groups that include companies with value chains and their constituent companies, as well as power producers such as PPA providers. These groups will conduct evaluations of trading partners' transition to renewable energy, consider and build engagement content, and develop plans for commercialization throughout the project period.
Leveraging our knowledge of electricity systems and PPA schemes, as well as our support track record, we, as the project secretariat, will support the smooth discussion and progress of each study group, aiming to build an implementable model that includes SMEs within the value chain.
