e-dash Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Touma Yamazaki; hereinafter "the Company") has been awarded the "Model Project for Supporting Energy Cost Reduction Through Promotion of Decarbonization Management for SMEs" by Hara Village, Suwa District, Nagano Prefecture (Village Mayor: Takahiro Ushiyama).

We are pleased to announce that we will begin supporting two businesses in the village in developing plans for cost reduction and CO2 emission reduction by visualizing their energy usage and CO2 emissions (Scope 1 & 2) using "e-dash".

Background of the Initiative

Hara Village has set a vision for the future of "A Beautiful Village Woven with Carbon Neutrality" and has been promoting initiatives to reduce greenhouse gas emissions within the village as a means of preserving a beautiful village for future generations.

In October 2025, under the theme of "Hara Village Zero Carbon Frontier," the village is exploring the establishment of a framework for regional collaboration to achieve a decarbonized society, including holding lectures and information exchange sessions in collaboration with businesses, chambers of commerce, and regional financial institutions, and is also working to revitalize decarbonization activities among businesses.

Meanwhile, in recent years, the impact of rising prices, such as crude oil and energy costs, due to the instability of international affairs, including the situation in the Middle East, has continued to put a significant strain on the management environment and business activities of businesses within the village.

Against this backdrop, Hara Village has decided to take its past collaborative efforts a step further and implement the "Model Project for Supporting Energy Cost Reduction Through Promotion of Decarbonization Management for SMEs" to promote the transition of businesses within the village to decarbonization management and reduce energy consumption.

Through the promotion of this project, the Company will contribute to the realization of Hara Village's vision of "A Beautiful Village Woven with Carbon Neutrality" and the development of a sustainable local community.

Overview of Support

The Company will provide the following support to two businesses in Hara Village:

1. Visualization of energy consumption, costs, and CO2 emissions (Scope 1 & 2)

Using the CO2 emission visualization and reduction service platform "e-dash," businesses can easily and accurately visualize their monthly energy consumption, costs, and Scope 1 & 2 emissions simply by uploading their electricity and gas bills. This will help them understand where and how much energy is being used and how much CO2 is being emitted in their business activities.

2. Support for developing plans to reduce CO2 emissions

Based on the visualized data of CO2 emissions and energy consumption, we will develop plans, including specific and effective target setting, tailored to each business.

3. Professional proposals and support for implementation to achieve cost and emission reductions

We will propose concrete initiatives for the developed plans. For example, we will provide information and back-end support from an expert perspective to help businesses smoothly transition to the next concrete actions, such as guidance on utilizing government "energy-saving diagnosis" programs and subsidy systems, and advice on the benefits of decarbonization management.

Participating businesses can receive all of these services free of charge until the end of February 2027.

Through the promotion of this project, the Company will contribute to the realization of carbon neutrality advocated by Hara Village and the development of a sustainable local community.

Comment from a Representative of Hara Village, Suwa District, Nagano Prefecture

Mr. Yoshitaka Miyasaka, Environmental Section, Construction and Waterworks Department, Hara Village Office

In Hara Village, we formulated the "Hara Village Global Warming Countermeasures Implementation Plan (Area Policy Edition)" and the "Roadmap for Realizing a Beautiful Village Woven with Carbon Neutrality" in FY2024, and are promoting decarbonization initiatives in collaboration with residents and businesses toward achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.

To ensure that this beautiful village continues to be a place where people want to live, visit, and do business while passing it on to future generations, we want to think about the unique approach to decarbonization for Hara Village together with the local community and shape it step by step.

The term "decarbonization" may cause some people to feel anxiety or confusion, such as "Do I need to take action myself?" "Will it increase my burden?" or "I don't know where to start." Therefore, through this project, we want to provide an opportunity for people to take the next step toward decarbonization with a sense of conviction by experiencing the visualization of CO2 emissions and professional support.

In advancing these initiatives, we will carefully listen to voices from the field and proceed with developments that are tailored to the local situation, with the cooperation of relevant organizations such as Suwa Shinkin Bank, with whom we concluded a partnership agreement for the realization of a decarbonized society in 2023, and the Hara Village Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

To pass on this beautiful village to the next generation, we will, with this project as a catalyst, expand decarbonization efforts that can be naturally integrated into daily life and business activities, together with the local community.
