The EAT JAPAN! Executive Committee will host the 2nd EAT JAPAN! festival at Tokyo Portcity Takeshiba on Sept 22-23, 2026. Admission is free. This urban festival connects local agricultural producers directly with consumers, aiming to address social issues such as labor shortages, sales channel challenges, and regional disparities. The event features agricultural booths where visitors can buy fresh produce directly from farmers, kitchen cars serving hot dishes using local Japanese ingredients, and stage performances by local groups, students, and artists. Located in the waterfront area of Takeshiba, the venue provides excellent access for international tourists. The event supports six languages (including English, Chinese, and Korean) and provides multilingual menus to ensure a high-quality cultural experience for global visitors. The first event, held in November 2025 at Takanawa Gateway City, drew 160,000 visitors from 50 countries and regions, featuring 33 farms, 17 food trucks, and 27 performers. Currently, the committee is recruiting vendors, local governments, sponsors, and buyers for the upcoming event.
